Explore London from Euston Square Hotel

London can be notoriously expensive. Euston Square Hotel is not, and that’s part of its success. This great little city hotel provides travellers with modern rooms, comfy beds and great bathrooms, all equipped with just what you need and nothing superfluous. You get a great night’s rest and a seriously amazing shower – worth the price of admission alone, we say – and the benefits of a hyperconnected central location.

Situated above Euston Square Underground station, and just 4 minutes walk from Euston Station, Euston Square Hotel is pretty much bang in the centre of things – “North London meets the West End on the edge of the East… “, as they put it. Ideal for all public transport, it’s also fantastically well situated for walking. About 30 mins will see you through Bloomsbury and into the West End, head west and you’ll be at Regent’s Park in no time. North to Camden, and east to Islington and the delights of Shoreditch. You’ll discover all sorts of amazing neighbourhoods, boutiques, pubs and eateries at every turn, which we think is one of London’s best features. The city’s layout, organically grown through the centuries, naturally favours the rambler.

About 15 minutes walk will see you in Camden, still popular with a younger crowd, despite the over development of the famous market. We’d recommend a visit though for the vibrant street food scene and night life. It’s one of the best places to find live music in the city, ranging from the eclectic Jazz Cafe to the grungier Underworld, and the iconic Roundhouse.

Euston Square Hotel is pretty much bang in the centre of things, it’s where North London meets the West End on the edge of the East.

Head south down Gower Street and you’ll witness Georgian architecture and students galore as you traverse the boundary of Bloomsbury to the east, and Fitzrovia just to the west. Along with various UCL campus buildings, you’ll find amazing gems such as leafy Store Street. We highly recommend the wonderful eponymous coffee shop, a treat for any caffeine aficionado. This charming little street boasts a quirky mix of independent shops, including Footes, one of the city’s long serving musical instrument shops, “keeping the beat since 1920”. Book lovers and those of a mystic inclination will adore Treadwell’s, a veritable treasure trove of esoteric knowledge. A little further south you’ll reach the noble British Museum. Out of bed and immersed in world history and ancient culture in the hallowed halls of the British Museum within 10 minutes. How’s that for location?

Euston Square Hotel is family owned and run, and this come across in the attention to detail. The interior design work has been overseen by the couple working together. A self-confessed systems geek”, the owner constantly seeks to improve service and functionality, while the daughter commissioned and curated the photography that graces the walls. The property was originally purchased in the 1980’s by the owner’s father, so the family involvement in the neighbourhood is deep, and relationships reciprocal. Looking for a great coffee? They recommend Cafe Piccolo just round the corner. Hungry? Don’t miss out on some of the capital’s best curry. Drummond Street is just 100 metres away and features a wealth of incredible Indian food, including many specifically ayurvedic vegetarian restaurants, with a focus on naturally healthy eating for body and soul. Chutney’s on the corner is a family favourite.

Admittedly, it’s no spa hotel. You’ll not be holed up in a spatial suite for weeks, pampering and relaxing, but that’s not the point. This is one for the urban explorers, for those who want to go out and grab the city by the horns and sample the best restaurants, art and culture in the world. A stay at Euston Square Hotel will leave a little extra in your pocket to enjoy London just that little bit more. With clever modern design and all you need for a great night’s sleep, we think it’s an ideal bolthole for urban adventures and we think you will love it too.
